Hello Week Two of the new year! You are a fearless, bold and confident lady boss who is taking all the right steps (get those steps in girl!) to make sure you Do You in 2016 — healthfully and stylishly.
This week we are excited to focus on the importance of community in our lives and how it can help us in our pursuit to health and wellness. Like anything worth achieving, living a healthy lifestyle is not something most people can do alone. Health and fitness become instantly more manageable when you have someone with you on the journey, helping you make healthy choices. Seriously, who can understand you better than another woman or group of individuals who share similar goals, passions and challenges?
The Mira Community is here to inspire you to set and achieve your wellness goals. Which is why we’ve come up with these 5 tips on how to build your inner circle in the new year to get you thinking about ways to start surrounding yourself with like-minded women, while still doing you in 2016.
#1 Try something new.
Set a goal to try something new this year. What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to try but haven’t gotten up the nerve to do? No more excuses. Do you 2016! You never know what you might discover about yourself by giving a new activity or skill a shot. Whether it be a cooking class, dance lessons or aerial yoga, find an activity that stretches you a bit.
#2 Say “Hello.”
Striking up conversation can be super scary. But why not introduce yourself and make small talk with the ladies you see while you’re out and about doing the things you enjoy — like the ones you see in yoga class every week? It’s very likely that they will have similar interests about health and wellness. If you’re shy, this may seem like a BFD, but it’s a new year, and you’re fabulous, so don’t be afraid to take the leap. Who knows, you might just meet your next business partner, role model, etc.
#3 Identify an accountability partner (or workout buddy).
This can be a gal pal, your significant other, anyone who can help and support you in reaching your goals. Make sure to tell your accountability partner one thing you’re working on in the new year to help keep you working towards a healthier you.
#4 Spread good vibes. It’s contagious.
Pass on encouragement to your inner circle. It’s easy — just open your Mira app! Did you know each day the app displays a new motivational message in the daily view? “Fill your heart with what’s important and be done with all the rest.” How’s that for inspiration on-demand!? Text the inspo to your accountability partner or a friend who needs a pick-me-up. They’ll love the boost and will likely return the favor in the future when you need some extra encouragement.
#5 Plan a social hangout or group fitness sesh
Set up a workout session or social hangout for some women you’d like to get to know better this year. Building and finding a circle of like-minded individuals who share similar goals and interests is essential to helping us achieve our goals and have a happier outlook on life. When you find a group of people that have your back–you are unstoppable!
